Driving Scalable and Compliant Solutions in Media Monitoring: Insights from Carmen Beamonte Moreno, PressReader

Tell us about your role and your company’s focus – what sets you apart in the media intelligence space today?

As a Senior Business Development Manager at PressReader, I lead strategic partnerships and drive growth across global markets. PressReader offers access to over 7,000 local and international newspapers and magazines — one of the largest catalogues of licensed print media to make every mention count.

What sets us apart is our unique combination of scale, flexibility, and compliance. We deliver high-quality content with multiple ways to review and access — including API integrations, high-resolution images, printed copies and digital subscriptions. This versatility allows organizations to tailor content delivery to their specific needs.

Our direct agreements with publishers ensure fair compensation for viewed content, which is increasingly critical in today’s media landscape. My role is to identify new business opportunities and communicate the unique value we offer to the media monitoring industry — helping partners unlock scalable, impactful solutions backed by trusted content, all while ensuring compliance with publisher agreements and local copyright practices and directives.

What are the top challenges you see your clients facing today — and how are you helping them overcome these?

Our clients face several key challenges in today’s fast-evolving digital landscape — from delivering relevant and trustworthy content to managing rising costs and navigating complex copyright requirements.

At PressReader, we address these challenges by offering global content, scalable technology and flexible licensing models. One major pain point for media monitoring organizations is the complexity of accessing articles on demand from international publications and calculating royalties. Our platform simplifies this with search capabilities through thousands of international titles, and then automatically triggers royalty payments based on user interactions, ensuring fair compensation and alignment with local RROs.

We also offer a variety of pricing structures allowing clients to manage costs more effectively. With access to thousands of trusted print media titles from around the world, our partners benefit from a single, unified solution without needing to negotiate and manage multiple licenses.  And our publishing partners gain access to audiences that may not have come across their content elsewhere.

What innovations or developments are you currently working on that you're particularly excited about?

We’re currently focused on expanding our integration capabilities to make PressReader even more accessible across platforms and devices. One of the developments I’m particularly excited about is our new product for media monitoring companies — the DISCOVERY API.

This solution, when integrated with an MMO’s platform, enables the MMOs’ clients to search, preview, and access articles within PressReade’s reading interface.

Key features include:

  • SDK integration for seamless embedded reading experience

  • Article snippets and previews to enhance content discovery

  • Full article reading with compensation tracking

  • Flexible licensing models

What does success look like for your company in the next 12 months?

We aim to enhance our platform’s functionality, expand our publisher network, and deliver even more value to our partners through flexible content solutions.

For the media monitoring industry, success also means deepening our collaboration with the sector.
