Key Benefits of Being a FIBEP Member and Their Evolution
FIBEP membership offers unparalleled access to a global network of media monitoring and analysis professionals, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Members benefit from cutting-edge industry events like Copyright Day and Tech Day, insights into regulatory updates, and access to the latest technological advancements, including AI integration in media monitoring. Looking forward, these benefits will deepen as FIBEP expands partnerships and resources, ensuring members remain at the forefront of industry innovation. With such a productive agenda, attending the World Media Intelligence Congress in the fall becomes even more important for every member.
Vision and Priorities for FIBEP in 2025
My vision for FIBEP is to be the unwavering voice of fairness and innovation in media intelligence. In 2025, I started my work on a three-year plan, a plan that aligns with my term as FIBEP President and hopefully will deliver tangible results that will benefit our members well into the future. Â We will prioritize copyright and licensing advancements, foster a larger collaboration with partners like AMEC, PDLN, PRCA, PRSA, FIPP, and drive a global dialogue on ethical data use. By creating actionable resources and advocating for balanced regulations, we aim to equip our members to thrive amid evolving industry and media challenges.
FIBEP’s Role in the Evolving Media Monitoring Industry
As the industry evolves, FIBEP’s role as a global advocate becomes increasingly vital. We aim to help shape copyright practices that balance innovation with fair remuneration, support members in navigating regulatory landscapes, and provide platforms for addressing issues like exclusive deals. Through advocacy, partnerships, and education, FIBEP will continue to champion the industry's ethical and operational evolution. I will be working as an ambassador for these global issues, under the direction of Christophe Dickes and the Copyright Commission.
Impact of Copyright Day and Tech Day on Awareness and Innovation
Copyright Day and Tech Day exemplify FIBEP's commitment to fostering innovation and regulatory clarity. These events provide members with insights into critical topics, such as AI, licensing, and copyright harmonization, while facilitating discussions with industry leaders and policymakers. By spotlighting these issues, we drive awareness and equip members to adapt to an ever-changing landscape. Adaptation to evolving standards and needs is what our industry does best.
Addressing Copyright Challenges for FIBEP Members
The biggest copyright challenges for members include navigating exclusive deals, harmonizing international regulations, and balancing innovation with compliance. Also, working with publishers and content providers, I hope to expand their understanding that their lost revenue from subscribers and advertisers can’t be completely recovered from a small industry like media monitoring. Fair remuneration must be a global discussion and involve all associated parties.
Our members, and their clients, are well positioned to help publishers remain relevant to businesses in a fragmenting media landscape. By collaborating globally, FIBEP aims to establish equitable solutions that support both media monitoring organizations and rights holders.
